Maybe it is not that strange that a fire broke out in a night club in Thailand. Thailand people have long ago lost the respect for fireworks. I do not know the law in Thailand for this matter but the police are not doing anything to stop people fire rockets in big crowds.
On the New Year in Pattaya on the beach in Pattaya people fired medium sized rockets right on the beach just meters away from maybe 5000 packed people. On Pattaya walking street people released rockets and fire crackers in the middle of the street.
While walking along Soi Bukaoo yesterday I saw several 1 meter rockets that had been fired on the small street. Normally you should be about 20 meters away firing them but the street is 3 meters wide.
If one of those rockets had gone into a club we had another Santika in Pattaya as well.
When I was living in Phuket I just fled the big streets there because people just let fire rockets loose on the street and not up in the air.
Lets hope that the new government will regulate the fireworks for the next year and only allow them outdoor and in a safe way.
