Pay for the Smile in Thailand

Pay for the Smile in Thailand

Tried to take some tourists in to Thailand and I had to hire a buss. I am talking about the big 42 seats buss. The same agency that booked the room for us were happy to give us a buss as well.

On their invoice they stated that we had to pay for the express way fee and tip for the driver. Fair enough we can do that no problem.

We tried to board the buss ATTA Airport authority of Thailand tried to stop us and we need a ticket. In that moment I wondered if they asked the PAD for a ticket when they parked 10 000 people there.

When I asked the lady behind the counter she told me off and told me I was stupid and that I should know this kind of things. She treated me like a beach vendor trying to sell her old squid.

After that nice service from ATTA I went upstairs and got my ticket and gave it to the grumpy lady and she stamped it. I asked how long now before the buss come and they said 20 min? They need 20 min to approve the bus to come and pick us up.

After 5 min another friend of the grumpy lady come out and said I need to pay 15 THB per person for ATTA fee.

I was kind of stunned by this time and finally some agent from the travel agency came and said that she will take care of it.

When I sent an email to the travel agency and told them about the problem she told me off for not knowing that ATTA fee is not include in the price.

So next time you book a hotel room in Thailand ask if a smile is include in the price or you have to pay extra for it.
