What have happen to the Thai police investigation on the Santika fire?
The different government investigations found many people guilty of many things. But still 8 month after the fire most nightclubs in Bangkok can have a fire similar to the one in Santika at any given time.
The many crack downs that should have closed down many nightclubs in Bangkok have stopped. No government employer has been fired and no guilty party has been convicted for the crime.
A major crackdown on bars and nightclubs should have taken place and they should have closed them down for good. I do not think the people in Bangkok care if a unsafe nightclub is closed down, sometimes you have to think about the benefits of the people instead of few THB.
Have you ever been for example in Lucifer Disco in Patpong? The only way out is small stair leading down and no other way to go? Bed Supper club was a liver hot dog before they put in the exit at the back but still it is not safe.
When you visit a nightclub in Bangkok check your exits and check if the exit really is an exit or if it’s a storage room for beer. Your life is in your own hands because the Bangkok government does not care about it.
