My ex in revenge mode decided to cut my internet connection just before the big holidays. So to get it up quick I ask one of my Thai friends to sign up for me. I asked him before to check how long it will take and True Corp said about 3-4 days, now that is not including Songkran the most holly holiday in Thailand.
So they want 3-4 days to connect an internet plug that already has been connected for 3 years and that they just disconnected. In this year 2007 you thought it should go faster then 3-4 days but no. I started calling True Corp customer service 10 days to talk with them and ask why it could go any faster but every time I pressed 9 for English I got an answer machine that told me they going to call back. No one ever did call me back for 10 days.
Yesterday morning I woke up from the sounds of my Eudora telling me that no emails could be fetched from the Server because the internet line was cut. There was no warning, there was no email, there was no phone call to me or to the house owner that actually owns the phone line that that ADSL line is connected to, True Corp Thailand just cut the internet off.
So my Thai friend started to call the customer service and they would come with a new modem and a contract that he could sign. I asked why I need a new modem and he said promotion but I still do not want a new modem. If you have something working in Thailand keep it as long as you can to upgrade to something newer might just give you headache.
I decided to go down to World Trade Place and to the local True shop to ask them why nobody have called me for 10 days and if there was anything I could do to make them work faster then 3-4 days.
The conversation went something like
I have been calling the customer service phone and pressed 9 for 10 days now and no one calls me back even if I left 10 messages.
True Customer Service Girl – “This is Thailand no one listen to answer machine in Thailand.”
Me – “Ohh glad you told me so why do you have the answer machine for all the English speaking customers?”
True Customer Service Girl “Because they do not speak English in the telephone support”
Me – “Ohh So can you give me an email that I can write to your supervisor and ask I mean supervise must speak English”
True Customer Service Girl – “We do not have emails”
Me – “But you are selling internet hi-speed lines and internet connection with emails but you do not have emails, not just 1 email for complaints?”Â
True Customer Service Girl – “No sir no emails”
Me – “Ok then can I have a telephone number were I can call supervisors and complain about this bad service?”
True Customer Service Girl – “You have to call the number and press 9”
Me – “But no one pick up on that line there is only an answer machine as I told you”
True Customer Service Girl – “Yes I know, nobody will call you back and answer if you press”
Me – “So if my internet is down or I have a question what do I do?”
True Customer Service Girl – “You call the customer service number and press 9”
Me – “And no one will answer?”
True Customer Service Girl – “Yes sir no one will answer or call you backâ€Â
Her face was turning into a nice pink color now.
Me – “You know how stupid this sounds for a big company like yours having this system?”
True Customer Service Girl – “Yes I know”
Her face was turning red now and I decided there was nothing I could do about it I just had to wait for 3 or 4 days and if I was lucky True Internet Corp the biggest Internet provided in Thailand would install it sooner.
