Thailand and Cambodia have had a shoot out on the border region. A Thai civilian and 2 Cambodian soldier was killed in the clash. The tension is high since the Cambodian has claimed that Thailand is trying to invade the Cambodian side just last week.
Both countries claiming the rights to the temple and two years ago Cambodian people in Phon Phen burned down the Thai Embassy because a misunderstanding that the Ankor Wat was in fact Thai property as well.
Tourist should not travel to this area right now and should be looking out for new about unrest between Thailand and Cambodia.
Travel to Cambodia and Thailand is not a problem just the border region.
