Travel warning for bus in Thailand

Travel warning for bus in Thailand

I need to tell people to be careful about traveling with bus again. Another well established Bus Company has let its staff rob the passengers.

The regular boss coming from Krabi with half Thai and half tourist people was travel as normal when the bus driver took a toilet stop. When one of the tourists stopped for a toilet pause as well he saw the driver and other members of the crew looking trough the bags below.

When caught red handed the bus driver started the bus and just drove off and after a while parked the bus in the middle of nowhere. The tourists with the help of the Thai people onboard notified the police.

Many things had gone missing from the bags during the trip and tourist file a complaint against the bus company.

So what can you do to avoid this happening to you?

Always travel with a well established bus company.

Keep your valuables in the bus leaving cloth and other things below the bus.

Lock the bags.

Make sure they give you a receipt when you leave them the bag.

Get an alarm for the bag so when opens give out an alarm.

When stopping for a break try to check what the staff are doing. They have no reason to open the baggage compartment on route.

If you travel more then one try to stay awake in shift or notify some other tourists on the bus traveling with you.

Get the local tourist police number where you’re traveling from and traveling to.

Do not expect the Thai people to intervene in the first phase they are scared to loose against others but if you can prove it they will help you.
