I saw a funny thing on the Bangkok Scam site today. The owner of the site had put a big warning poster on the front page telling everybody:
NOTE: We reserve the right to delete all of-topic comments on this page. All ip addresses are logged for every comment. We will co-operate full with the Royal Thai police against anyone that makes racist or slanderous comments. Under Thai law, maximum prison sentence is five years. It doesn’t matter if you are not in Thailand at the time you wrote the comment. You will be arrested when you come here for your next holiday.
Sure celebrities sue each other all the time for slander in court and if you really talk bad about someone in public you can get arrested but it will not get you 5 years in prison.
- Your country will never give out the IP for this crime it is a freedom of speech.
- A scam site is all about slander others right you talk bad about other people scam or not.
- As long as you do not talk bad about the King in Thailand you should be just fine.
- You will not be arrested in the airport for this type of crimes.
- The webmaster is the one they will arrest in this case not you if he not delete the comment.
Do not worries to be arrested enjoy the free speech and fight for it all over the world but respect other people and their culture.
