Pattaya free press

I was reading about the many dangers’ on the third road in Pattaya outside the Xyte night club and the bars that open around that area when I came across this.

“Pattaya Daily News tries not to report more than 2 severe crime items each day, in accordance with the council’s request to downplay violence, but we have reported many similar events in the past and feel that trying to pull the wool over the public’s eyes is not the way to go about reducing the senseless violence which increasingly characterizes this city. Rather, we feel that all such incidents must be reported in full to pressurize the Powers That Be into taking some constructive action.”

I think it’s pretty sad that the council instead of going after the gangs goes after the press. It would be pretty easy to arrest all of them if the police really wanted since many commit crimes daily and are known by the police. A police squad stationed around this area would be a good idea as well since many of the fighting I read about happens in these places. If the pubs and restaurants can assure the safety of the guests and people traveling on third road they should be closed down.
