Pattaya is for sale
When I was in Pattaya last week I never seen so many places for sale or rent. Even the popular streets like Soi Bukow have places for sale or rent.
One met one tourist he had been looking for a house for some time and finally he rented a house for 5000 THB near central Pattaya. He said the owner had waited 1 year to rent the house out but nobody wanted it. So finally he rented it out for 5000 THB a bargain even in Pattaya.
Tony’s Bazaar village has closed down just after two month and the extra parking space is closed. Even if Tony tried really hard to promote it and got loads of people selling thing on the market, no tourists wanted to go to third road.
My guess is that Tony’s food court will close down soon as well and just leave the Tony’s as it was before.
After I spoken with several brokers they told me it is not really at the bottom yet people are still holding on. But if you really need to sell and move back to your own country then now is not time to sell and you will have to go down in price.
People are hoping that things will get back to normal when the high season comes but will people really have money to come to Thailand and what will the political situation be nothing is really clear.

Could be me! (the one who did the blog on Goy and SMS Thailand). But I’m as good as married now, so I’m being a good boy 🙂 But some friends have talked about prices sometimes going down by as much as half in Nana etc…
Less farang tourists, less money to spend, local expats in the same situation.

Sounds bad. Similar situation in Chiang Mai, except the city doesn’t rely on farangs anything like as much as Pattaya. In the bars the girls must be really suffering. How do they survive when things are this bad?

How true that is, ironically many Thai dont seem to understand that its not at the bottom yet. It will be an interesting next 12 months.
