How to take care a baby bird in Thailand

Unfortunately, the bird (Nok) baby Nok Thaksin died in his sleep last night. I tried to feed him and keep him cool and hot in the same time and made a nice basket for him to sleep him but my guess is he was too young to be hatch from the egg. He fell down 4 meters from the nest on my house roof and we had no way to getting him back up there. A little bit too sad to write anything else today so I will write about how to take care of a wile baby bird if you find one in Thailand.

1. Do not try to care of a baby bird in Thailand if you have other choices. The best choice is to give it back to the bird parents but if they are gone or not found and you have no other choice then ok.
2. Make sure the bird is not a protected bird a visit to the local veterinary can answer that question very quickly. If you living in the city the chances are slim but you never, know.
3. If you have other pets like cat or dogs, they might not see the bird the way you do and they can either scare the bird to death or simply eat it.
4. Make a bird nest with paper towels and fold it like a nest and changes the papers when they get dirty. Make sure the bird is not to hot or cold but in Thailand the only problem will be air con I guess.
5. The pop from the bird should always have a white thing in it that means the bird is feeling ok if not then go see the veterinary.
6. You can find many advices on putting a lamp on top of the bird to keep it warm but remember this is Thailand and it is hot enough.
7. I cannot give you advice on feeding and you should not take the advice from the internet on this. It is all depends on how old the bird is and what species the bird is. The best advice is to visit your local veterinary or specialized bird shop.
8. When you know what type of Nok you are having search for it on the internet you might learn something the veterinary did not tell you. As I learned to late having the Nok Thaksin in the kitchen, I later learned that Teflon nonstick pans are hazardous to any bird’s health as they put off a fume that is deathly toxic to the bird’s lungs. Birds do not like perfume or any other spray their lungs are too small.

If you happen to find a small bird in Thailand and you find my advice useful then send me a picture of your nok.
