You might think the fisherman pants is the Thai clothing of today. Everyone that has visited Kosan Road in Bangkok seemed to buys a pair to look like a “genuine” Thai. Sure they are very cozy but also make your bum look like you are closing to 70 years old.
But the clothing of choice for Thai people can be seen in any small street or when people going out for evening. Also at night in the local supermarket like Lotus, Carrefour or 7/11 will see parade of the latest Thai fashion show. First out is actually a pair of flip flops in any color as long as it does not match with any of the other clothings. The flip flops can be bought for less than half a US dollar at most supermarkets.
The other piece of clothing of the day is a pair of shorts in any color for around one US dollar. The shorts are made usually by fabrics that are leftover from some other clothing factory therefore they can be in any color.
No underwear is needed since the shorts are used as that as well.
The last thing you will need to buy is a T-shirt for about one US dollar. Any color will be fine and if you can find some English rock band that nobody ever heard of in Thailand it’s even better. If you want to be fabulously cool and you have the body form of a Thai you can skip the T-shirt and shorts and buy a full dress pajamas with Teddy bears.
You will have enough money from your two dollar to sit down with the rest of the fashion victims in the street and eat a chicken noodles in the evening fume.
